Focus Scripture: Job 19:28-29
Once again I see Jesus' words in the book of Job. No not the exact words, but the flavor of them, the meaning of them. Job is suffering and all his friends can do is tell him it is all his own fault. Job attempts to both defend himself and rail against God who, in Job's eyes, has treated him so unjustly. But in these verses, Job is warning his friends--judge not, lest ye be judged.
OK, those words were more Jesus than Job, but that is what Job is saying: “If you say, ‘How we will hound him, since the root of the trouble lies in him, ’ you should fear the sword yourselves; for wrath will bring punishment by the sword, and then you will know that there is judgment. ” That is essentially another way of saying, be careful judging me, because you too will be judged.
