Focus Scripture; Psalm 147:1
We did it. A full year. The entire Bible.
It seems fitting to end the year on a note of praise. I don't know about you, but 2016 has had some very difficult times. This is not a year that will go in my book as the best of times--the worst of times? Maybe, or maybe not. But the best of times? No way. There was the nastiness of the election--and it went on and on and on. There were personal losses and personal conflicts. Yes, it was a year of growth but like all years of growth, that growth comes at a cost.
And there was loss. In my case, the loss of my father who passed away in late spring. But life and time goes on, and so do we. So indeed let's end the year on a note of praise. Let us praise God for the good that did come our way. Let us praise God for the lessons that the trials and losses brought. Let us praise God for the comfort offered in times of stress and distress. And most of all, let us thank God for God's grace, offered to us every day through his son Jesus Christ. Amen.
